Liked the moment just for the dad math joke.
Usually I want my planes to be able to fly
Plane Soda and the Wright Engineering tastes like a fine grit martini with a splash of grain alcohol and essense of boiled lindseed oil. Completely satisfying, yet few understand why🤔 #BecauseAlchemy
Spurs or…. Huh? 🤣🤣 just kidding!
Diamond needle files at harbor freight, $5 on sale. Ten files in it. Very light pressure and a little Windex lubricant... Boom. Lots of maybe not worth it work on a $10 saw still, but it takes out the diamond file cost argument. 😂
Well, what an experience. I showed up and almost left when I found it was $75 just to get in, and a late registration fee of $35. I paid my money, walked through the room and bought a few things, spending about $50. Watched the stool making demo and liked the guy running it. Then I went home. I should have stayed for the auction and could have gotten pretty much the same stuff for half what I spent.
I was the guy who just joined the club last week, and met you around 11 am, asking you about all the different places you've lived.
It's good to meet you. The board was talking about doing one day only passes for the conference. We're trying to reach out to more users and that requires a whole change of culture but little by little change is coming.
I need this for my start to be in the best mob boss
Very interesting
Thanks for sharing that!
how that post drill wiggles so hard the holes cant be precise or can they
Yeah. The babbit on this one needs to be redone. There's a lot of slop in the shaft after 120 years of use.
One hour and 81 views? Fell off
No it's a live video and it didn't actually get published until a couple months ago it doesn't count live members in the view count

Yes, found just the type of test I was looking for. So much contradictory information online. Just a tip: this video might gain more traction if you upload a YT short snippet titled e.g. "Does thinning oil make it penetrate deeper?" And link the full video.
Why I thought it was big switch or transistor?
I remember struggling w this along w all my friends in year 7 woodwork bahahaha
Could you flatten a "skate plate" on circural saws? Sometimes they scratchup and mes ya work.
WHOA BUDDY that was a close one😂
May I have your email pls? For asking some questions.
Me: Carbonation… that must be like when they put extra carbon in samurai swords… oh wait a minute… damn it he got me.😂
Why would a wood worker buy a bench hook.
Everyone has different values and requirements. Why would an automotive mechanic buy a car
For the potato stain, you might want to try a little oxalic acid. Watch out though, it "bleaches" wood (no chlorine), so might bleach the surrounding wood as well. I've used it to get nasty gray-black stone flour stains out of a table top. (Don't use a tile saw on the dining table kids :D)
Chatgpt says it's a "beading plane" for adding decorative beading to a piece of moulding
LOL someday it'll be worth it.
Absolutely loved this. Skipping all of the layout lines seems amazing
Ulllgh
excuse me spurs or what?
Just remember if you want to carve stone you need to get aliens involved or it won't work. Humans can't carve stone.
Reach out to the new yankee workshop
The 'colonial' history of the United States covers the period of European colonization from the early 16th century until the end of the colonial period in 1776. Many of the tools seen in this video date from the late 19th-early 20thc. For example, the cast metal Stanley No 1 bench plane was first manufactured in 1867. The curved metal object referred to as a "Setter" (23:30) is a 'soundpost setter' - available in various sizes to adjust the position of the sound post in violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. Great collection of antique tools even if they are not 'colonial'.
good video, my brother old is gold🥰🥰🥰🥰💎💎💎💎🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳👌👌👌
Fun stream
I like to say I’m a carpenter, however I have no red seal
Did you say nicker or something else?
Yes. It is called a spur or nicker depending on use and tradition.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo sounds a little close to something else that doesn’t pick up well online
I use block plane for every thing bc I can't afford a new or even a used plane😅
The Triple Bit, the Press, and the Hardware are awesome! I love seeing old tools.
Do you know if the kit would fit a miller falls No. 55 block plane?
I do not know. I haven't heard of anyone who has tried that yet. But if you check the threads on it. That's more than half the battle. If you order it and it doesn't fit we can do a return on it.
Sole of the plane? I thought that was the flat part than runs on the timber? I mean I know that.
Lol yup.
You can turn a bigger bit whith a power drill than you can with thhose braces. You just have to reduce the pressure and hold the handle while you brace the battery with your other hand.
LOL not with an auger. And wait until the day you break the battery. I've seen a few like that.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo I use large auger bits often and have done so with the same drill for 6 years. Tell me how I can't run those and should have broken a battery, which I only have 2 of.
We heard that bud🤔🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤨🤨🤨
Takes 2 seconds to Google that man come on
That's what you would think. But good luck googling "hand plane with wheel on the bottom."
Feet destroying garbage. To next video.
What key is rawhide in...
I am carver and carpenter also and i just use my carving knife V chisel U gouge and flat carving chisel and i can carve anything you can do anything with just that, other tools just save you a little bit of time
I mean, any shoe that is made to fit your foot's shape and size will always be comfortable, so the only real benefit of clogs is their ease of being shaped by an individual with the right tools. I ain't know a place where I can get rubber or tools for rubber for adjusting the soles of my shoes, but I do know where to get a hook to start working on some clogs.
You know full well you have to do that with the iron seated and pulled back. You're probably the one that told me to do that! 😂 Here's your engagement, you rage baiting menace ❤
👍👍
I think you could diagnose this issue using feeler gauges, but I don't know anything about plains, so take this advice as it is
Sometimes you can. But sometimes it touches and is perfectly flat around the perimeter of the plane but at the center near the mouth it's not. A feeler gauge won't be able to tell you that. The feeling gauge will give you a good idea but usually the best idea is just using the plane and if it works the way it should then it doesn't need to be messed with. The other problem with feeler gauges is that it's a often cause someone to start chasing perfection. And unfortunately the planes hole does not have to be that crazy flat.
Will it work to remove zinc oxide from antique canning jar screw caps?
I would think yes. But I'm not 100% sure.
It doesn't matter if you always work on a nice wooden bench but when you are in the rest of the world and have a concrete floors, scaffolding or metalbench you are glad you got it drilled into you to put it in its side, because a wooden bench won't it hurt but concrete will.
I have never seen a metal or concrete woodworking bench. I'd be very interested to see what part of the world you are in to find that.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo metal working benches are often made of steel, the concrete (as I said) is on the floor. I work on vintage vehicals doing the, mostly, wooden body work so we have wood working benches and metal working benches, some times you are on a bus or in the pit under a vehical. Sometime the floor of what we are working on is metal, wood or even canvas so sometime the floor will hurt the plane and some time the plane will hurt the floor. Perhaps my work is abit niche but I have rarely worked on a building side with nice clean wooden surfaces to put your tools on either. Put your planes on there side, chisels bevel down, saw upside down etc dosn't take anymore effort but could safe you a lot.
I understand where you're coming from. But yes you are extremely niche. And most the time these tools would not be used on a job site. And if you are or working in a situation much like you do then you have very different techniques and methods that would not be used in a woodshop. Different strokes for different folks and in different locations.
@@WoodByWrightHowToabsolutely but the same would apply to anyone doing trim work, bespoke kitchens or other fitted furniture, "proper" timber fraiming, "shepherd huts" and camper conversions are very popular and a similar environment. Anyone working with wood, aleast at the a finish or trim stage should at the very least have two planes and I would be very suspicious of anyone one who dosn't Your shop teacher was looking after the schools assets and teaching you to do the same.
I never use a hadle on my files. Don't need it, never have.
